if its the original hd then the disk is most proberly shot

most went 10+ years ago

the crc data error means the floppy disk is fualty

you need to burn another disk

emxp is your best bet there

the disks images are in the files section

use the known good ones you need the hd os or plus os disk

  Subject: [emax] Testing EMAX HD

Hello - New to the group here, and need some help with a EMAX HD rack mount with SE, model 1021 that I just acquired. I dont know much about this unit at all, but would like to learn how to use it. I powered it up and the first thing in the display window says that its doing a diagnostic test. After that the screen says "Loading Software" This screen just stays there... I was expecting something to load up from the hard drive? I noticed that the access light comes on right away on the 3.5" floppy drive when it wants to load software. There was a floppy in the drive when I bought it that has a non-descript label - looked like some type of scratch disk possibly. While the EMAX display was saying "Loading software" I pushed in the floppy and the display changed to something like "wait a minute" and then it tries to load from the floppy. After a few seconds, the display says "Data CRC error"
If I push the play button the display comes back with "all tracks are empty."

What do I need to do to get this to boot up properly (should be from hard drive right?) and then are there some files that I can download that I can put onto a floppy for the EMAX to play so that I can check it out? Thanks for any help that you can provide!
