bad signal diode can take out all keys in that octave
as seeing your getting midi to trigger
the scanner cpu deals with the keyboard and the buttons
youcould have a bad scanner chip
but check the contact board starting at the c#5 key trace the diode
for that key and test if its working

Subject: [emax] Five top keys fault
Dear folks,
My Emax II top 5 range keys faults (from G#5 to C6) no sounds.
Playing on MIDI master keyboard there's no problem, all seems to be ok, all sounds.
I checked contact springs and seems to be ok. Only when I use a plastic stick to move spring over contact with a key previously played all sounds...until I back to turn sampler in upright position.
I cleaned all contact springs and contact base. I checked keyrange board and all contact ways on board. All seemed to de ok for me.
I checked all keyrange connectors to mother board: Ok
Maybe I need to know what parts of sampler are involved in keyrange operation to checked something else....I don't know....
