I just fixed a DX7II-FD main board for Jon Morgan. Same symptoms floppy drive errors then all of a sudden it would not boot anymore. The floppy disk controller chip was bad. If you can find a WD1772PH controller chip (Ebay) try it and you may be back in business. This FDC chip can interrupt the CPU and prevent it from booting. --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, krikor kouchian <krikorola@...> wrote: > > from what i read in the service manual, Cheju is right, it could be either > the CPU, the Echip/MCL, or the timer. > But the fact that the LED and display go crazy is directly related to the > main CPU, from the block diagram info. > > Can this part be replaced? i have the feeling it can't > > http://www.krikor.fr > +33632199413 > > bookings: > France/Suisse/Benelux: fanyktdj@... > World: laetitia@... > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] >
