It is a known detail that some of the Emax 2 floppy drive cables either had the key in the wrong direction from what is expected or no key at all allowing for incorrect floppy drive hookup. Normally on most drives the stripe on the floppy cable is closest to the power connector and on the Emax (1 or 2) the stripe is always nearest to the back of the unit. But some incorrect floppy drive cables (only seen on Emax 2, not Emax 1) prevented this. In those cases, I always replace that cable or remove the key, so that it is "consistent" with the expected configuration.
