NO- Download the file. Then simply double click it.

OK, do I just drag and drop the 'boot622.exe' onto a floppy disk within windows? If not, how do I get it onto a bootable floppy?
Thanks for you patience with all my idiotic questions!

Floppy drive should already be a default boot device where floppy is inserted on boot.
Formatting a floppy in XP does not put the OS files on it, and XP OS files are too big.
The boot622.exe file will make the full DOS 6.22 floppy for you.
Simply download, insert a 1.44MB floppy in drive a: and execute the program.

One last question, How do I boot my PC into DOS
if I cannot seem to get the necessary DOS onto a floppy?
I should just be able to format a floppy in WinxP
and that should give me the necessary DOS files to boot into DOS once I set my floppy drive up as the boot device within my PC BIOS correct?

So are you saying I can dump the DOS (you have posted up on the user group)
onto a floppy and boot the computer from the floppy?
Once booted into DOS I simply what?
insert EMXUTIL disk into the floppy drive then
run EMXUTIL at the A:// prompt?
We are going back a ways here..my memory is rusty.
I am having flashbacks of my Commodore 128 inserting a 5-1/4" disk and typing 'Load *, 8
Is EMXUTIL in the drop box files folder too?
If so I will try this and see if it will work
Thank You Ted!
P.S-Is it necessary to format the floppy on the EMAX first, then use EMXUTIL?

No, you can't run it within XP as it works to write raw to the device. Windows will "interpret" the I/O and make the disks not useable...it doesn't use OMNIFLOP or windows at all....

EMXUTIL and DOS bootable disk image are both in the files section of the group

Will EMXUTIL run within DOS executed from within Windows (into case XP)?

If so I'll try to make the Plus OS disks that way.
If so, where can I get a copy?
Do you know of a download link for
EMXUTIL?
Do I need to keep OmniFlop installed?

This Plus OS disk is the only thing keeping me from using SCSI zips on my Emax I HD
Thanks for the Help Ted

EMXUTIL booted from DOS does work, as that is how I make SE Update disks. I still format in EMAX first.
But I haven't had any customer come back and say the SE disk didn't work.

Bascially it is an exclamation dialog
and Unknown Disc Format Error box.
that says
";unknown error processing message C0000014 Parameters 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c "
This all happened before I removed the OmniFdd.sys driver and rolled
back to the standard windows FDD controller

Omniflop had problems with it too. I then went into OmniFlop and formatted
a floppy within it, after rolling back the OmniFdd Floppy Controller Driver
and I did get OmniFlop to actually see the floppy and format it.
I did a 'test installation' using OmniFlop and got a message reading drive good and it "supports 281 predefined formats yada yada"
I then did a 'Format Write routine using the Plus OS disk as the source
and it did go through the routine and Formatted as well as wrote the disk.
I then did a 'test disk' diagnostic with OmniFlop and it tested out ok
"format Recongnized"
I then placed it into the Emax I HD Fdd and cold booted
and it says "disk not formatted!"
I then formatted the Floppy on the Emax I HD and booted it just the same
to see if the Emax was indeed writing the disk correctly and it was.

I then took the FDD out of the Emax, Formated and function
and put it in my PC and started EMXP
I went to Emax disk utilities to 'Manage OS on Floppy Disk'
and got same error code dialog box
and same error code happens again
"unknown error processing message C0000014 Parameters 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c "

I don't know what
"unknown error processing message C0000014 Parameters 75b6bf7c 75b6bf7c "

means to be quite honest..clueless here...

Think I will download EMXUTIL and see if that will fare better than EMXP is on this system as right now EMXP doesn't like my system for some reason
