Anyone familiar with these SCSI to CF devices?

Anyone familiar with these SCSI to CF devices?

2014-06-02 by xeelox@...

In reviewing various CF options to replace an Emax HD, I came across the following:

http://www.ssd.gb.com/index.php/products/scsi-flash-cf/scsi-flash-disk-detail

They also make several scsi to cf drives listed here: http://www.cf2scsi.com/index.php/products, but the the emulation thing has me curious whether/which ones could potentially work. Anybody seen these, or better yet, tried them? I didn't see them in the list of drives in the group database.

I also noticed what appears to be the same drive or similar (based solely on the images) here: http://www.peripheral-vision.com/home/ Maybe it is the same maybe not, but I'm still curious.

Thanks,

Jim

From my reading it's the same on the second site.
In theory it should work- but I always find worrisome that they don';t post prices on these sites.
That makes me believe it will be expensive.

Ted

I'm pretty sure someone on another forum ( i forget which) posted a link to those card readers before and they were several hundred dollars. Like twice the price of expensive CF readers on Ebay.

I share your suspicion on the missing prices. I have an inquiry pending on their pricing & will update this thread if/when they respond.

Thanks,
Jim

I had checked with a company out of Germany last year. They wanted $900 per unit and would drop to $600 if you bought 100 units. ridiculous- but they DID guarante that if you bought it, they would make it work or refund your $$$.

Thx.

saw these a while back always thought they looked worth looking into - sound real cool!

The price is not real cool...£835!

---------like they said- OUCH!!-------------

Different market, different price point, can't see anyone with an MPC paying that much for a CF reader.

I will not be testing this drive.

Got an email from their sales rep. Price has gone down considerably from the previous post of £835 / $1,398. lol

"The qty 1 price of the CF2SCSI flashdisk is $795. This includes a 4 GB SLC CF card. Warranty is 2 Years, and if you have a problem during this time, we will advance ship you a new unit. Please allow $ 45 Euros for shipping to the US"

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
