Hey, I honestly think the sp1200 would be a better buy then the mpc 60.. I
use my Emax se for the sound.. I have a k2500rs,EIIIx and a SCI Prophet 2000
all maxed out and the Emax and the prophet have the best filters.. my Emax is
currently sick though so I'm not sure when I'll have the extra cash to fix it
(parts) Jump on that $80 Emax, that's a great deal. as for sliders and
controllers, I use an emu launch pad a lot and it works really well and adds
a nice expressiveness. kinda like a mini sp1200 interface if you will.
Peace out, Nicholas

Hi there
Here is my view about the MPC60 vs. SP1200 I have both.
Both of these machines are great but I feel that the MPC60 comes out tops. The drum sounds produced on both are great but the MPC60 sequencer is in a league of it's own. It has a totally unique feel and is so good to use. Anyone who has a ASQ 10, MPC60 with or with out full expansion or MPC3000 will verify this. That's why all the big producers used them. Remember they are around roughly the same time and Akia sequercers of the Roger Linn family as above saw more Chart light of day due to this sequencer.
Cheers
Colin

Nicholas, are you talking about controling the emax synthesis
parameters (ie filter cutoff, resonance, envelopes, etc) via SysEx? I
didn't know this was possible..... Where did you get the parameter
list from?

thanks,

Julian
