Emulator III memory upgrade

Emulator III memory upgrade

2003-06-23 by brian_ronn

I know I'm a litle of subject here, but I'll try anyway.

Does anyone know were I can buy the memory upgrade from 4 megs to 8
megs for the EIII? The kit includes the Emu PAL chip and instructions.

Thanks

Brian

I think the original kit is no more available, but you can buy parts
separate. For details check and/or email Rob at
www.emulatorarchive.com on where to get them, I believe he can help.

Hi Rascalrevenge

Yes, I have e-mailed Rob at emulatorarchive but he has a lot to do so unfortunately he cannot focus on it.

I've tried SoundSource (a tip) and some other stores who sell Emu kits, but none of them had the memory upgrade kit for the EIII.

Best regards

Brian

Last year I bought the PALs from EPR electronics (authorized E-mu east coast
representative in the US) try the (www.epr.com) ??? and it cost about
$20.00. The memory is easy to find as it is standard 30 pin SIMM technology.
If I remember correctly you can use non-parity (8 chip) or parity (9
chip)??? in the first 8 simm slots. remove the old 256k simms as the will be
useless and could cause problems.
Hope this helps,
Skip
