Is my emax dead finally?

Is my emax dead finally?

2003-10-01 by gedankentief

Hello emax group!

I'm owning an old Emax I, which I got from a friend some years ago.
Btw, he didn't know anything about this strange "keyboard", exactly
like me. From time to time I tried get some sound out of it, but had
not much success. I think it produced sound for about two times, but
I really had not any idea how I achieved this, because just one of
the disks was working sometimes. Most time the emax hanged-up(?).

About two months ago I wanted to chuck it out and tried it for the
very last time and it was working. I found out how to use this emx
programm and created some bank disks. But then finally it couldn't
read the os-disk any more, the disk was damaged. I tried to create
new os-disks, but the emax didn't read. I verified them with emx,
everthing was fine. But the emax couldn't read it anymore.

I think the floppy drive is dead, because it is accessed three times
and then it hangs-up or starts again (infinite loop).

Have u any ideas what I can do now? I live in Austria, I think
ordering new parts will not be that easy, right?!

Bye Flo
(who is sorry about his Austrian English ;-)
