Emax

Just a quick question, what is the advantage of having extra memory in the Emax II besides extended sampling time? Thanks.

The biggest advantage is being able to have more complex multisamples.  
Theoretically anyway an 8 meg piano should be more realistic than a 1 meg, you can 
sample more notes, do longer sustains before looping to find good loop points 
etc.  Of course some 2 gig sounds aren't as well done as some 32 meg pianos 
but honestly more memory is a wonderful things.  There are many wonderful 4 and 
8 meg banks that can't be used on a 1,2 or 3 meg EMAX
