3 almost-FAQ

3 almost-FAQ

2003-10-26 by miromesnilnoir

This is my first post...pls don't kill me.

well, the almost-FAQ are:

1) Is possible to convert in em* banks an emax cd image I'v
downloaded?

2) Is possible to use the Midi SDS to port STEREO sounds in my
emaxII? The Soundforge says not, but I'm sure that there's a way...

3) Does anyone know where I can find a daughterboard for my
unexpansed (2mb ram)EmaxII?

Thanks a lot,
a CIAO from Italy,
Morgan

Nope. In order for an image to work for the Emax II it would have to include the OS data
as well. I believe Emax II CD-Roms are basically images of Emax II formatted hard
drives.

Yes. In SF split the stereo waveform into two separate waveforms. Send one waveform
for the Primary voice of a key and the other to the Secondary voice of the same key,
then go into Preset Definition and change the option 4 "Stereo Voice" by seleting the
corresponding voices. I believe Primary voices are automaticaly routed as Left and
Secondary as Right, but I could be mistaken.

You are not going to find any daughterboard kits and more importantly the install
diskette to activate them. The only route is to by an Emax that's already been expanded.
I have a 4Mb unit (has the daughterboard) and it's still almost cheaper to get another
unit than buy even the memory upgrade kits from the one source left on the net Sound
Logic. I think their price is is like $100 for every 2Mb kit.
