Emax

So... I've wanted to replace my floppy drive for quite
some time, but didn't want to mess it up. I've tried
all  sorts of emx disk format tests, and i still can't
load. I have an Emax 1 keyboard. I opened it up months
ago and noticed that the disk drive was attached to
another board (for the pitch and mod wheels maybe?). I
just wondered if anyone could explain how to separate
it without killing the board. I don't have much
experience with any electrical engineering. I just
wondered if I'd be able to do it safely.
