Floppy drive - Absolutely, exact same part.

Hard drive, doubtful as the Emax requires a Miniscribe.

RE: [emax] (unknown)

Hi,
Not usually.... The only drive that works with both is a ZIP100 SCSI drive.
The Emax can only format 20MB and no more. It works with the Miniscribe
8425S and thats about all, except for some very unusual 10-20MB drives.
Basic Emax II drive was 40MB.

Anyone thought of resampling/transfering their Emax sound library into the
new E-mu Systems Emulator X software sampler? Emax with Z-plane filters -
cool. And GBytes of storage..........

Regards
Rob

The Emulator X just isn't going to sound the same as an Emax and I for one will never
want to move to a software based sampler. To me it's just not a practical solution for
playing live. They recommend a 2gHz pentium 4 with 1Gb of memory. I'm still using a P2
400 LOL. The$299 price tag at musician's friend does make it look compelling. I also
can't believe they are still charging $349 for the Turbo upgrade card for an ESi-32/4000.
