Emax

I'm trying to get Alchemy 3 to work on my PowerMac 5500.  I've got 
the rs422 cable made and connected.  The program doesn't see the 
synth.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's been a while but I thought you had to connect the SCSI cable to the
sampler.

And I used to use D-SoundPRO instead of Alchemy.  Much better program.

Do you have the midi cable plugged in at the same time as the rs422 
cable.  I read on the emulator archive you can not have both plugged 
in at the same time because the midi and rs422 use the same chip.

No, I just had the 422 cable.  no midi yet.  just trying to get it 
to work with the mac....

I figured out my problem.  The tech who made my mac-to-RS422 cable wired one 
of the pins wrong.  I had him recheck the pinouts with a toner and he caught 
it and redid the cable.

Now everything works fine.  I am a happy happy dude.

I can send/receive samples, etc. using my PowerMac 5500 and mac Classic II 
computers.
