Why don't you just get a midi keyboard controller?

Or better yet go buy a new synth that has pressure
sensitive keys ( I think the Emax's were only velocity
sensitive)to use as you keyboard controller and to
give you that extra midi data and sone extra sounds.

You don't have to use the Keyboard in the Emax, you
could just use it as a midi controlled sound module.

I think you missed the point, that I hate modules.
I have decided that it's going to be one digital
piano and one emax-2, so I can convert the old emax
files so I can get them in to my ESi.

I agree with Bob Conner.

It's one thing to say 'I hate modules'.. but I hate dinking
around with expensive equipment repair even more, especially
when it's an out-of-production piece... I've
been using a KX88/EMAX I rack combination since 1986,
including playing out.. it works.
