Emax II Internal SCSI Problem

Emax II Internal SCSI Problem

2005-07-27 by ack_u_rit

Hi,

I opened up my Emax II keyboard to install an internal SCSI drive and
I noticed that the SCSI connector looked as follows:

CN2
||||||||||||.||||||||||||
|||||||||||||||||||||||||

The period indicates a missing pin. The pin to the left of it is
leaning a bit which is why I suspected foul play. I hooked up the
drive anyway but the keyboard didn't recognize it. Is the connector
normal or is it essentially damaged and useless? Any help would be
appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi

Which drive are you using? I don't remember if the missing pin is ok or not but it might be that the drive you use is incompatible.

Best regards

Brian

Hi,

Thanks so much for the reply. I'm using a Seagate ST11200N. It's 1
GB I believe.

Thanks

Hi

These drives are proven to work with the Emax II:

http://www.emulatorarchive.com/Samplers/Emax2Overview/Emax2Drives/emax2drives.html

Emax'es can be a little selective regarding harddrives so I think that your Seagate drive is incompatible with your Emax II.

By the way Emulatorarchive is a great ressource for Emu gear.

Best regards

Brian
