Hi all, just purchased one EmaxII turbo rack with 4MB of ram. Can you tell me where I can find the original library files for it? Many thanks Greetings from Italy Roberto

Interesting question. We all know the link for the original EMAX-I banks (see: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/synths/emax/default.htm) But were there also any original banks specific to EMAX-II ? I don't know... The answer could be "no" because of the memory range of EMAX-II going from 1 MB to 8 MB, depending on the model... Anyone ? ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, Roby <roby.mx@v...> wrote:

Hello E-Synthesist, I've found one good site with 1MB or 2MB Emax-II files (see: www.dragonslair.ca), but now I'm curious to find some others bigger library files, if they exist, because I have a 4MB Emax-II. Many thanks for your reply Ciao Roberto esynthesist wrote: > Interesting question. > We all know the link for the original EMAX-I banks > (see: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/synths/emax/default.htm) > <http://www.hermannseib.com/english/synths/emax/default.htm%29> > > But were there also any original banks specific to EMAX-II ? > I don't know... Oh yes that's right, I read about that one somewhere in the archives. That site was down for a long time. Just visited it again. Most of the EMAX-II images seem the same as the EMAX-I images. I'm wondering whether the images were EMAX-II originals that have been compressed to EMAX-I afterwards, or would it have been the other way around :-) ? (Dave ?) Anyway I'm going to download the EMAX-II images from that site, as some of the EMAX-I images are kind of corrupt (my EMAX-II crashes on them). Thanks ! ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, Roby <roby.mx@v...> wrote: > > Hello E-Synthesist, > I've found one good site with 1MB or 2MB > Emax-II files (see: www.dragonslair.ca), but > now I'm curious to find some others bigger > library files, if they exist, because I have a > 4MB Emax-II. > > Many thanks for your reply > > Ciao > Roberto > > esynthesist wrote: > > > Interesting question. > > We all know the link for the original EMAX-I banks > > (see: http://www.hermannseib.com/english/synths/emax/default.htm) > > <http://www.hermannseib.com/english/synths/emax/default.htm%29> > > > > But were there also any original banks specific to EMAX-II ? > > I don't know... The EmaxII files are similer to the EmaxI files, but for the EmaxII, EMU resampled them at 16 bits. You can save the 1mb samples on the EmaxII in a compressed format, that can be read by the EmaxI. According to the manual, these disks are supposed to sound better than the original EmaxI disks. I have posted some of the compressed files on the website, and a few people have downloaded them, and said they work fine. I plan on doing all of them, but my studio is dismantled at this time for some modifications, and since the flying season is pretty much over for the year (I fly model airplanes and helicopers)I'll be starting on the mods soon, once it is back together, I'll get the rest of them done. --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "esynthesist" <esynthesist@y...> wrote:

Wow, thanks for putting effort in this and making available the libraries to the community ! About the "crash of my EMAX": most of the EMAX-I files are perfect indeed ! In fact I'm using quite a lot of them every day :-) It's just a few of them I have trouble with (e.g. ZD750, ZD789, ...): my EMAX-II can load them perfectly, I can even choose some presets and play them, but some other presets have "strange names" and the display shows weird characters both in the first and the second display line. When I want to play those presets or try to change some parameters of them, EMAX-II sometimes hangs after a few seconds. I encountered these problems while I was programming the emaxlib software and wanted to use all ZD-images for testing purposes. I will check if I have the same problem when I compress them with my own EMAX-II. I'll let you know ! ///E-Synthesist --- In emax@yahoogroups.com, "Dave" <dragonslair@t...> wrote: > > The EmaxII files are similer to the EmaxI files, but for the EmaxII, > EMU resampled them at 16 bits. > You can save the 1mb samples on the EmaxII in a compressed format, > that can be read by the EmaxI.
