The Emax doesn't have the OS internally in ROM. It's always on disk.
Emax disks can contain both OS and sounds at the same time; most
probably at least one of your disks will have the OS on it. So when
you've installed your diskdrive, insert this disk and start the Emax.
Then you can check the OS version by pressing MASTER-0 (Special) and
then SOFTWARE REVISION-9.
To replace the OS, you need a disk with another OS installed on it.
You can copy this OS to existing disks by using the MASTER-0 Special
menu, option COPY SOFTWARE-1.
You can also put or replace OS (and sounds) on floppy disks using an
XP PC with EMXP, on condition that you've an internal floppy
diskdrive in that PC.
All OS versions can be downloaded from this group in the files
section I believe. Or from

maxos.html
