Preserving Emax sound library

Preserving Emax sound library

2008-05-02 by manicpeter

Hi guys,

I am a little concerned that my emax will eventually die.
The sound disks that I have from the original library are wonderful.

I have recently bought an mpc1000 and put the jj os2 in it which
allows for instrument programs with keyzones. I have successfully
sampled one alto strings program with identical keyzones and pretty
identical loop points to the emax. I did not want to transfer the
samples digitally via omnifloppy or so since a) i can't get it to run
and b) I don't think it will translate program settings which are
vital for the sound, basically, i wanted the exactly same sound in the
mpc as came out of the Emax.

So now I have successfully transfered the program, I would ideally
like to do this for all programs. But time is short and it is a lot of
work...

Has anybody done anything similar for their samplers? Or transferred
programs like that to wav files and would like to share?

best,
Pete

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
