Filter tuning?

Filter tuning?

2009-01-07 by amigauser24

Hello everyone..

My emax seems to have a *slightly* different filter setting every eighth key played. When
there is no filter applied it sounds as it should but when it's on or adjusted to a low setting
it's very noticeable. I can live with this I guess but it worries me that there might be a deeper
issue which can quickly turn into a costly repair. It's also a little annoying due to it sounding
like a reversed note at times.

Might anyone know the cause or have a solution for a fix?

Thanks in advance!

if you have an oscilloscope then you can cross reference with the
other filters to see there function

the other thing that could be the cause is the sample and hold
multiplexer

have you performed a calibration of the filters to make them matched

There is a calibration mode and disk, maybe in the files section.

On the plus OS and maybe the others, I think it's master>Special(0) and then the number after the last option in that menu, so if the last menu option is 8, press 9. Then you have to enter a code, which is EMAX in numbers like a telephone text, then you get into the calibration modes. I've tuned my filters this way by ear, and as long as you don't have a a faulty filter chip you should be able to bring it back in line.
