Would this be a DIY Spyrus MCDISK?

Would this be a DIY Spyrus MCDISK?

Found the price a little high... I am no computer whiz, but would this recipe work?

1. External SCSI Drive Enclosure (IDE interface inside) $70.00
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=38008875235

+

2. CF to IDE Adapter $1.00
http://cgi.ebay.com/CF-Compact-Flash-to-40-Pin-IDE-Adapter-Bootable-9696_W0QQitemZ180328325603QQ

If it works, seems like a more reasonable solution to the $170 Spyrus options.

Opinions welcome!

I bought an adapter like the one you just linked to, to try to use in an
ATAPI system as a removable drive. (mpc2000xl)

it did not work.

but maybe it will work with that drive enclosure.. no idea.

pretty sure that no matter if it works or not though, it will NOT be
hot-swappable.

Here is a thread on how to make these drives work with the EOS samplers. It
looks pretty involved but it might help shed some light on getting them to
work with the older EMUs:
