Also,
How are you stopping the sampling? Maybe just set a short time and let it stop by itself? You can stop recording and cancel sampling. Do you have the audio outs on your MPC set to the Sample input on the emax?
Check assigning the sample to the individual outs, incase it's an output board problem.
Can it play preset samples from disk ok?

Subject: [emax] Re: Sampling is not working
What's the key spread?..how much of a key range are you specifying when you place the sample pitch in advance?? Or is it just one key? As you may know..key range is limited by sample rate. I believe higher sample rates are assignable to less keys..I combed the manual and couldn't locate the specifics.
The other thing off top is are you operating solely out of the main outputs? I tend to use the 8-outs instead and sometimes when I sample a new source it will default back to the main outs. But you did specify that you erase all data..so it should default to the mains anyway.
One last possible thing..do you double check the key range assignment right before you sample? I've noticed usually everything will remain the same if I exit the sampling screen EXCEPT for the sample key range assignment. My 2 cents on the matter.

Next I set the threshold but when I have the threshold on the screen and I hit a pad on my mpc with drum sound on it I see the threshold meter on the emax move. I arm sampling and as soon as I press the pad it says sampling then i stop it. It seems like I'm following the steps correctly but then I will hit the keys where I set it to be and there is no sound at all. I cam press any key and there is no sound. I continued to experiment and found when I set the sample to appear on the keys all the way to the left when I play back the sample its just sounds like pitched up static. Everything else on the emax works as far as I know but I'm wondering if the sampling is broken which would be unfortunate because that's the main reason I bought the emax. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
