Emax

Hello everyone,

I'm wondering if it is possible to boot an Emax 1 without a floppy drive installed. I've installed a CF drive, recieved from Ted Summers, and everything works fine.

However, I have learned that I can't boot the Emax without having a floppy disk installed. I would like to remove the floppy drive completely, and boot straight off of the OS on my SD card. Is this possible?

Is there a jumper setting I am perhaps missing? Or am I stuck installing a slim floppy drive with an IDE converter?

I believe you need to set the flash ID to 0 since the EMAX I does not have the ability to change boot IDs.

Yes it is possible. This group really needs an FAQ :)

From my past post:

"You can jumper pins 25/26 on the floppy drive connector on the motherboard
(it's the /TRK0 sense pin which tells the Emax the drive head is on Track
0). Once you do this, you'll be able to boot the Emax with no floppy drive
attached."

My Emax is booting off the flash drive now...no floppy necessary.
