Flip LCD?

Flip LCD?

2009-12-29 by Per

Hi all

Got two questions someone here maybe can answer:

1. Is it possible to do something about the LCD? I have a rackunit placed above the computerdisplay and there the letters are quite faded. The viewingangle is below what it's designed for. Is it possible to turn the LCD (without getting the letters upside down) or is there another better solution?

2. My HD broke down. It's a Emax HD SE running Emax Plus 1.0. How do I make the machine disregard the HD when I want to save to floppy? Now it only says HD error - or something like that - and then exits the savefunction.

1. A replacement LCD may have a wider viewing angle, something to
consider....

2. If the data slider when you save a bank is all the way down, it should be
on floppy, or type 00, should set it to save to floppy.

Ted

1. There is also a trimmer on the front panel of the Emax rack II that adjusts the viewing angle of
the LCD. I believe the Emax I rack also has this. It is inside a small hole near the data slider.
Gently inserting a small, flat blade screwdriver and adjusting this may improve the contrast of the
display at your viewing angle.

In the Emax I, the trimmer is present in some revisions only.
Note I have two equal boards (Version 2 Rev C), but both have differences. ONe has the trim, not the other. One have the E chip in a daughterboard, other not, even being the same revision.

Thanks all for the tips. I hadn't noticed there was a hole next to the dataslider. :)

But the trick to save with the dataslider way down doesn't work on mine. And when should I press 00? If I press it before I press save nothing happens. If I press SAVE it just says HD Catalog Error.
