HD replacement for emax or other less noisy alternatives

Hi everybody! I just got myself a new emax and I'm enjoying everything about it except the loud noise from the HD...is there anyway I can install a new silent HD on it? What are my alternatives? is there a way to install a card reader in the floppy slot? This is the early version that doesn't have a scsi port... thanks a lot for any help! Rui
