in an answer, Nope

The blight of GM came a good 5 years or more after the end of the Emax line and was never implemented on the Emax II either.
TBH it only really appeared in the semi-pro/home keyboard market initially and the Emaxes were aimed Pro end and sound design markets.

It would certainly be possible to create a GM drum map (as some banks had SP1200 maps), but I doubt the original Emax could hold enough samples for the complete implementation of 128 instruments.
I think the "bliss disk" comes somewhere close and you can download the image from the files page

hope this helps

Simon

Thanks a lot Simon.. I imagine that..
what i need is only the drum map of GM because i need to play some drum sequence trough the Emax but the sequences i have are set in GM mode.

maybe somone has a drum bank with GM setting..if not i will provide to sample it then i will share to the group.

Thanks again

1) load up your sequence in a sequencer, and visually inspect what note
values are required.
2) go look for the GM drum map, and work out what sounds are required by
these notes,
3) get a drumkit bank that has the right samples, or as many as
possible, and map the samples in the bank to the right MIDI notes.

Re: Emax General Midi

2010-07-23 by Augusto

Hi. If you have a floppy disk and a pc you can download EMXP and a decent GM sf2 drum bank and then try to convert it to emax image. Then put that into a floppy and load it into Emax.

Augusto.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
