Back Up OS from Emax 2 HD

Back Up OS from Emax 2 HD

2010-08-02 by betawave31

Hello,

I just purchased a supposed non functional Emax 2 and got the HD running as the person who sold it never new there was one in it(unit doesnt say Emax 2 HD on the case).BTW as a bonus I found it was an upgraded 4MB model!

I want to make a floppy back up of the operating system from the hard drive.

Can someone here fill me in if a: this is possible b: what step to take to make the backup. I do not have PC or ever intend to own one so Id like to do this in box so to speak.

Any help would greatly be rewarded with a copious thank you!

As far as I recall, you can do it with the function COPY SOFTWARE (I am not in the studio, I think it is into SPECIAL menu on MASTER module). When it asks "Copy from" you have to select the HD with the DRIVE SELECT button, then when asked for the target, insert a formatted floppy and set SCSI 0 for being copied into the floppy drive.

Hi,

THANK YOU!!!

Worked like a charm. I now have 2 copies of the OS in case the HD goes down!

I appreciate your help and the fact this group is around!

Sounds like you had a bit of a result there matey.. I see you have the answer to your question. Getting the 4mb is good news, as it means that you could theoretically take it up to the maximum 8mb.

Welcome to the brotherhood :-)
