Hello everyone. I am a newcomer to this forum. I want to buy emaxII, but I do not have sufficient information to the user. Maybe someone can tell about this sampler the positive and negative. Such as whether there is scope to increase memory? Or with 2MB enough for amateurs?

The Emax II is a great synth and sampler. My first Emax II was actually the first pro keyboard I ever purchased new. I actually had to special order it because I lived in a small market that didn't stock them. Upgrading RAM is more or less impossible at this point. If you find a 3 or 4 MB unit that has the daughterboard, you might be able to upgrade, but the parts are challenging to track down to say the least. As for 2MB being enough, well, it is certainly laughable by todays standards, but perfectly useable. The massive transposition range you get with the Emax II is so good that you can create useful analog synth emulations with a single sample centered at C3. Another useful feature are the various sample rates available. Definitely take the time to read through the manual and digest the sampling recommendations. For instance, for a lot of bass or percussion sounds that don't have a lot of high frequency content, sample at a low rate of 20khz or sample rate convert even lower if you feel the results are acceptable. It is limiting, but you can accomplish a great deal with a single Emax II. It might even force you to be more creative than you might be if you had every option at your fingertips. JMMFHO ;-) Best of luck!

I have a Yamaha cs6x who also has good sound, but emax is much much better. I have little experience with synthesizers and a very great interest:) Question: how and what I could use those two synths together? I do not have emax II but with extreme sample converter I'm tested emax library volume 1-4. I do not know whether they are all original bank, but many are very cool. Maybe someone have who is going to sell the Emax II keyboard. I will consider yours offers. Thanks, Aivis
