Emax

Hi everybody...

Does anyone have the HxC SD reader/virual Floppy installed on an Emax 1?
 
I installed mine on my Emax SE Rack and it seems to work ok (physically), but I think I´m doing
something wrong regarding the OS or the card config.

What I did so far is:

1)Downloaded diskette images from here:
http://www.hermannseib.com/english/synths/emax/banks.htm

2)Opened the HxC software and converted some .EMX files to .HFE format into the SD memory.

3) went to
http://emulatorarchive.com/Samplers/EmaxOverview/EmaxOS/emaxos.html

And downloaded "emaxse11.zip", and extracted it.

4) Then I copied "emaxos.emx" into the same path (root) as the .HFE files in the SD memory stick.

I don´t have my Emax here with me right now, but it seems to read the card but then it´s
like it can´t find the OS. I tell it to load any image and it seems to be recognized by the
HxC card, but the Emax begin loading and it hangs...

What I´m doing wrong? What settings should I use on the HxC software?

You have to put the emaxos.emx in the folder of the .em1 banks (on your PC hard disk) *before* converting these .em1 files into .hfe files that you save on the SD card.
The HxC conversion process takes both the OS (emaxos.emx) and the bank file (.em1 file) as input and merges them + converts them into a single .hfe file. 
This .hfe file must be considered as being a virtual version of a normal Emax floppy disk, containing the OS and the sounds. Only then the Emax sampler can boot from such a .hfe file and/or use the OS modules on it.
