PCD-50B or Internal SCSI ZIP ? dam...Questions

2011-08-07 by maradiostar

Hi all

Well I don't know what to do...I've found information about the Slim floppy and the JM-215A adaptor...but is it better to get a internal Zip to put in front with the slimFloppy ? or should I buy one of this PCD-50B ? Somebody told me that not all of them work with the Emax and I should to update the firmware to get it work with the Emax.....is it true ?

I have an Emax keyboard HD but the internal HD died...:(

thanks for your help...

Pedro

PS: if somebody got a JM-215A adaptor to sell , I'm your man

Re: [emax] Re: PCD-50B or Internal SCSI ZIP ? dam...Questions

2011-08-07 by Ted Summers

I am here.

If you buy one that is new from some place like http://psism.com/scsi50band60b.htm
It should be read / write.
If you buy it used and find you have read only firmware I will send the firmware to you.
It does require a PC and SCS in the PC to update it.

I have only seen READ ONLY where the drive is used (taken from photo kiosk, etc).

As to JM-215A modification, I don't have any good pictures but can send instructions.

I would like someone who can take a good picture of modified one (without mistakes made in the mod process) to send pictures and I can put them on the wordpress site and files here.
Perhaps someone who has bought one from me?

While I can modify and fix Emax parts all day long with success, put a camera in my hand and I am a true novice in that area.
I can never get clear pictures of electronics parts. I always get reflections from solder and traces....

Regards,
Ted

Hey Ted,

We are modding a JM-215A right now! I will definitely try to take
some clear pics and upload them shorty.
