emax boards/repair/rescue....

2011-12-08 by n_c630

i had a formerly working mono emax 2 that started that clicking thing where all the lights blink. i recently purchased a damaged board off someone...poor packing and a few drops enroute it seems....

the mono emaxs two boards are:pc352 rev a 890427
                              pc360 rev a 891107
the broken board has: pc352 rev b
                      pc360 rev c

is it possible to make the mono board stereo from this? any parts that are important to salvage from either board that i dont use?

Sounds like the capacitors in your power supply are bad. Same thing happened to two of my machines and I just replaced all of the capacitors in the power supplies (one power supply in each machine). Hope you're handy with a soldering iron. Not that difficult of a job. Make sure uF are the same, and voltages should be the same or slightly higher. Also check the temperature for each capacitor.

also check the spade connectors as the solder they used was very week when pulling of cables the spades pull through the solder
