Floppy replacement with CF card? USB? SD Card? tell me which!

2012-02-09 by soundsubs

ok ok ok.
i know im late to this. but i want to put a better storage device into my Baldwin IKE/EMAX. i cant tell from searching this group whats the "preferred" upgrade for those of us without options for scsi?

i would like (in order):

-scsi update for my baldwin ike. i think i need a kit for this, but not sure of availability?

-a device to put in the floppy bay to replace the floppy drive. it could read CF cards, or SD cards, or a USB stick. and be fast!

please help!

i upgraded an E3 with a CF card (internal) and shut off the internal HD so im pretty familiar with the technical part of it.

$50 for SCSI update kit.
You may have a rev C board (version 3) like I had.
if so that is as easy as a chip swap...

Please check my website for further detail:

I recommend you still should have a floppy drive- to boot from in case the OS on the HD / CF becomes corrupt.
Again- see my site, there is plenty of info there and your options.

I take paypal.
paypal to: djtbs1@...

Regards.
