mimic center tapped pots in EML electrocomp101

mimic center tapped pots in EML electrocomp101

2011-11-05 by ganesha

Hi,

The VCO's of the eml 101 let you sweep the waveform continuously from triangle to square to saw. This is done with a center tapped pot but these are very difficult to find.
Would it be possible to mimic this behaviour with a single or double ganged pot and some opamps? I would like to build a module that morphs 3 audiosignals with 1 knob in a similar way.

Thanks!

I bought a few 10k Center tapped pots (5k/5k) a couple years ago for my SteamSynth, but never ended up using them. They're a different value than the EMLs, but with possibly a few value adjustment they should work just fine. I can let a few go if you'd like to PM me.

Back again...

I hope it's not too off topic and possibly verboten here, but I'll be offering a 5U/MU (Moog/Synthesizers.com) module in a couple months. I morphs up to 4 inputs with variable morphing "width". The morph is controlled by a single 0-5v input. Eack input/output is a separate VCA. And there's a mix output.

Sorry about the blatent promotion. Am I to be forgiven?

With non-sealed pots which are held together with metal tabs, such as many Alphas and Alps pots, it is easy to add more taps.
