Hi, It has been 3 years but I did talk to Doug Morton who created several banks on (i believe) at least Universe of sounds 1&2. He had talked about re-releasing some of the samples in other sampler formats. He lives only about 2 hours from me. I think I'll contact him and see what he says about the subject. Thanks, Rod --- In emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com, "hexafuzz" <gclip@...> wrote: > > > > > also curious to find out what companies still support the FMS/ > > K-Muse/ and EMU factory libraries? I dont know who holds FMS/K-Muse (sadly, Richard Burmer passed away in 2006 http://www.richardburmer.com/memorial.htm). > > The properties in question may still be considered financial assets and may have been passed on, acquired, or sold. If a company went bankrupt, rights may be currently held by some faceless banking institution...I just dont know. What I *do* know is; we dont have written permission to distribute them here and one complaint of copyright infringement to Yahoo is all it takes to shut this group down. > > Im not a copyright attorney and I have no desire to become one. I dont possess the factual proof required to unequivocally state that someones intellectual property is now public domain. My (and the other moderators) only allegiance here is to ensure this groups continued existence, and that the creators of these libraries are just as respected and welcome here as everyone else. > > As previously stated; if anyone here is successful in securing written permission from the current copyright holders concerning legal distribution, the moderators will discuss changing this policy for any affected commercial libraries. Until then, the "Private Trading Only" policy stands. > > Thanks for your understanding and cooperation, > -Hexafuzz >
