Hi, This is a good step forward. The CDS3 is now correctly taking control of the EII, but it is not completing EII "initilisation". The CDS3 manual suggests that this is a connection problem. Given the cable is correct, I suggest checking the EII RS422 internal connection. Power Off the EII. Open the case, be very careful not to damage the internal cable between top and bottom casings. Locate the RS422 socket. Note the following: Which pins are wired up on the socket. Check there are no wiring breaks. Whether the wiring goes to a small daughterboard or straight to the digital board. At the same time check the OS boot ROM version numbers. They are on the digital board and have paper stickers on them. Close the case and power back on. Note the serial number and OS version. Double check the CDS3 dip settings and the new cable wiring. Email me with the information you find. It may be that your RS422 port is wired up differently. Regards Rob

Thanks Rob E2 mainboot is2.1dm And there is another one with sticker on it (e2 3.0scanner my serial nr is 2497 The 422port is right on the digi board Do I have to lose the whole board to check the connections? By the way, I would like to put in a 3.5 floppy but mine is a single drive. I have located that there is a second cable there.would it be any problems? The problems might be to find a new front panel to my 5 1/4drive , thanks for now cheers Jonas. PS: i have made a cdrom for the EIII with the orinal sounds from my sci studio 440.would you like to test it and give me your opinion.ds --- In emulatorII-list@y..., "Rob Keeble" <rob@e...> wrote: > Hi, > This is a good step forward.
