seriously, i tried "copy disk" function with original system disk with no success. placed source to upper drive and empty/formated disk to lower. i was excepting this is how it should be done.. am i wrong? i also just saved empty bank with system included, several times, but this seems to make operating disk much slower to read than original operating disk. i had two or three working copies of 3.1, but now i just have original one wich i´m very affraid to use, as those earlier copies were corrupted by using them. --- In emulatorII-list@yahoogroups.com, "roisto" <roisto@...> wrote:

All performance disks are bootable. Boot the machine using your working disk, then format a new performance disk (Disk Function 8), and you should have what you want.

Is there an obsessive and or completist group member
in USA/CA that may require for his collection the
original EII box? It's only somewhat tatty and may be
highly useful in youth recapturing reenactments or
positive storage. I feel it would be a sin to purge
this from the eARTH, but I've little space now in new
tenement. Just pay postage. [w]

Cool man. It was the disc the whole time. I got a free 3.5 drive out if it.. One of my discs has stopped reading all ready, wish this thing could be a little more steady. Good times, thanks for responding.

Emu2ers, I have a hand-written labeled floppy for my Emu that just says "Best Synths" it has a program on it that is 04 Chorus Pad and it sounds completely marvelous. Am curious if that rings a bell with anyone and if you know if thats part of any "proper" released library disk? Thanks -Sean

Does anyone know what was used to make choir sounds in: Depeche Mode - Behind the Wheel Pet Shop Boys - Domino Dancing Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls Wondered if it was an EII, and if so, available anywere? Dan

Be sure that it was an EII. There are lots of choir sounds and voices in the E-Mu Factory library and in the OMI Library. Greetz, Elm.

Hi Dan The PSB West End Girls string sound is most definitely the EMU "Marcatto Strings" disk, and so are the horns on that track too. So, I can only assume the choir stuff is as well, also considering how "Emu II" they sound. -Sean On Jan 21, 2008, at 3:16 PM, Dan Litwin wrote: > Does anyone know what was used to make choir sounds in: > > Depeche Mode - Behind the Wheel > Pet Shop Boys - Domino Dancing > Pet Shop Boys - West End Girls > > Wondered if it was an EII, and if so, available anywere? > > Dan > > > [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

I have the WEG Strings on one of my countless EII floppies - it is indeed the Marcato Strings disk. I reckon the choir is from either the Fairlight CMI III or the EIII, which became their go-to samplers in the late 80s (Domino Dancing is a 1989 track, produced in Miami by Lewis A Martinee). Cheers Vic
