EII cosmetic restoration complete

EII cosmetic restoration complete

2011-09-05 by James Ulibarri

I posted this on the other board..

I'm very happy how it all turned out. Totally stunning. Looks better than new. It has a color matched Dupont paint job from a well known Ferrari painter in Southern California, new old stock original label, and new Nortitake VFD with blue filter.

Took about 6 months to complete but I think it was worth it. The unit works like a champ too.

Nice. I like the VFD in particular - that should be the standard display. Any images of the back panel, maybe do a shoot in better lighting if you have time?

The back wasn't done. All that was done was the top cover. The Dupont textured paint does match though. I know what you're saying about the lighting. It's very poor. I will be buying a professional light table with infinity background and continuous lighting setup sometime this year. It's on my list, but I am up to my neck in other projects at the moment.

Thanks for the nice comment.

Excellent job. Congratulations. I also like the display.
