Re: JSX Head and the 2101

2006-08-15 by clint_jenlinder

Hello

I have a couple of the 2101's. I also have the JSX head with a 6505
Bottom cab. I have tried several ways in hooking the path of the
2101 with the JSX. If you bypass the distortion in the program
parameters, you will be able to use the amp distortion, however you
may need to tweak the EQ, master level, noise gate, and the wet to
dry mix to find a sound you like. I would suggest getting a modified
DS-1 by Robert Keeley. I use the pedal mainly as a boost for mids
and solos. It may be the ingredient you are looking for. I have
currently found a happy distortion with the 2101. Here is how I path
my effects. Guitar/Sabine RT-7000/2101 input/left mono out/highgain
imput of JSX. I used the clean channel.

I also have floor effects That I use in conjuction with the 2101.
These are path through the effect loop of the JSX. Wah pedal/DS-
1/MRX-phase 90/BossPS-5/Digitec Whammy/Boss DM-2 delay.

If you really want to hear the 2101 at it's best. I have played it
through many amps of all makes and models. The absolute best in my
opinion was the Peavey Classic 30, which I use for smaller venued
gigs.

Please if anyone has other Ideas on pathing the 2101 with the JSX
along with setting recommendations, we are all ears. Thanks

Clint

out how to enhance the amps awsome distortion tone with the Effects
of the 2101. For some reason I can't figure it out.... I used to
just plug the 2101 in to my Marshall's FX loop. Apparently this is a
little more complicated. Help is greatly appreciated.
