Just like a volume pedal with a pot, or is it light responsive?No- there is a LED mounted on the pedal. and an photo transistior an the board... when you press the pedal forward, the LED moves nearer to the transistor. The value is read out by the INTEL- processor.
I'll soon will write an FC1- upgrade page... Software and so on...
