Last week, I popped the lid on one of my 2101s to lubricate a scratchy output pot. While the lid was off, I decided to check the battery. Even though it looked OK from the top and was still powering the backup memory, when I removed the battery I discovered it had begun to leak. So here's a heads-up. Our 2101s are now 15 years old and some of the batteries have lasted all this time. Even though they still have power left, you might want to check your battery for leakage. I bought a 2-pack of EverReady CR2032 batteries from WalMart for less than $5. Money well spent. Remember to do a System Dump before you change your battery or you risk losing all your user programs.
