Re: [gsp-2101] Power Amp recomendations

2010-02-08 by mojokh98@yahoo.com

ive tried all kinds of power amps
my main rig is a gsp-2101 updated with dual sdics and upgrade chips
my power amp is a Peavey classic 120/120 all tube (120 watts per cahnnel or 240 watss bridge. through 2 4x12 cabs this rigs rocksssss. ive been using this rig for 10+ years
with no problems

ive tried mesa boogie 50/50 2x90s , marshall 8008 , crate amp
a couple of solid state amps but nothing comes close to my Peavey Classic 120/120
its heavy as hell but nothing sounds as good, so i would recommend it.
i keep wanting to trade off for something alot lighter but i cant sacrifice my sound.
good luck finding something.

I am using a Mesa 20/20 and am very happy with the tone. Also, I've found the 20W + 20W power easily sufficient for the type of gigs we play - audiences of up to 800. Hope this helps.

Hi all -

I am looking into downsizing my rack and guitar rig, the main thing is to get a smaller and lighter power amp for my 2101. right now I am using a Mesa simulclass 2:90. I am considering a Rocktron Velocity 100, and just wondering if anyone has any experience using this and how it sounds with the 2101 or any other one-space power amps that are reasonably priced.

Thanks,

-Paul
