I know I'm new here...but not to preamps and NOT to Digitech I believe that the 2101 was designed for direct. I'm using trusted amps....and simultaneous direct. The direct KILLS. I'd never believe it. I'd almost given up hope. I'm committed to what the 2101 can do going direct to pa/daw. However....I would say something like the Mesa 20/20. A low power guitar tube power amp with resonance/presence controls. Really get a good tube saturation, but some tweaking ability. The Tonelab SE does well with nearly any poweramp. But the 2101 seems VERY sensitive and picky. I'm chosing to pursue the direct route, but I have access to good PA. Even thinking about using a "mini PA" as my rig! The 2101 has so much control that it will sound good direct, with a decent PA. Imagine showing up with guitar and 2101 and blowing minds! > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > > From: plw1015 > > > To: gsp-2101@yahoogroup s.com > > > Sent: Monday, February 08, 2010 12:43 PM > > > Subject: [gsp-2101] Power Amp recomendations > > > > > > > > > > > > Hi all - > > > > > > I am looking into downsizing my rack and guitar rig, the main thing is to get a smaller and lighter power amp for my 2101. right now I am using a Mesa simulclass 2:90. I am considering a Rocktron Velocity 100, and just wondering if anyone has any experience using this and how it sounds with the 2101 or any other one-space power amps that are reasonably priced. > > > > > > Thanks, > > > > > > -Paul > > > > > >
