okay, I've been using the 2101 since 96, and lurking in the various newsgroups since Randy was still posting. Here's my question/problem, I can't seem to get the "dual preamp" set up mentioned in the 2101 (artist) manual working correctly. I've got a Marshall DSL201 ombo (1x12, 20 watt, ch. switching). I've done exactly what the manual says (using a "y" adapter since the DSL201 doesn't have 2 inputs) and the balance of signals is wildly off. In other words, if I use the Sum/No Sum/Bypass to control which preamp is in, BIG difference in volume and the sound of the effects is very weak. Yes, I've triple checked the connections. Has anyone else had a problem with this. I'd love to keep the analog section of the 2101 in front of the marshall and get the effects in the effects loop of the marshall, mainly because -- with the 2101 in front of the amp -- the digital effects because SERIOUSLY pronounced when I engage the overdrive channel on the marshall (must be something to do with the preamp circuit design when the other preamp tubes are engaged in the overdrive channel). Anyway, if I've got, say, a flange with a bit of delay and its sound great in the "clean" channel, when I switch to the overdrive channel the effects become so pronounced it's like a new patch. So, anyone connected the 2101 in the manner indicated in the manual to get both preamps, and done so with an amp that does NOT have dual inputs? Anyone using the 2101 with a DSL201? BTW, the DSL201 is fantastic because you can drive the power amps hard at a volume that doesn't kill on stage or drive the sound man crazy (and rarely has the keyboard yelled "turn it down"). FYI, I'm playing a variety of guitars through this rig: 82 American Strat w/ Gilmour EMGs, Epi Les Paul w/ Duncan 59 and JB, ASAT with stock p/u's, and an Epi Riviera w/ stock p/u's. All run great through this rig. Thoughts and suggestions are appreciated. Greg
