OK I'm thinking it's definitely a heat thing.

Was just using it in my studio & after a couple of hours it started acting up again.

Now usually in a gig situation I'm trying to get it back right away for obvious reasons.

This time I was able to just turn it off & leave it. Sure enough after it cooled down it was fine.

Now what I can't understand is why would it be heating up more now?

I've used it hours on end without this problem for years before.

Dieter by checking your below suggestions, would any of these cause

overheating & would the voltages have changed over the years from just getting old?

Also, do I just take it in to my local music shop techy for these tests or do I need to send it to Digitech?

1. check the voltages of the power-supply!

2. Check the hum- voltages of the voltages!!

3. check the D-RAMS!

Guys my 2101 has been crashing a lot more lately.

You know, the scrambled text, leaving it totally inoperable.

Sometimes I can get it back but sometimes I need to give it a hard reset.

It could possibly be heat related, last night it went nuts on the last song of the set (thank God)

After having it cool down on break it seemed fine. I had to reset the midi though.

Could this be a battery issue? I've never changed the battery & have had the unit for Hmm

well since they first came out. (6-8yrs?)

It's been well used, average 8-12 hours/week since I bought it.

I'm just not sure it's a battery thing?

These crashes have been getting progressively worse over the last 1-2 years.

Before that it was solid as a rock & it's been in the same rack config the whole time.

If it's heat related I'm just wondering why there was never a problem before?

The only time it would crash before was from bad electric in the venues.

Any help is greatly appreciated!
