Re: [gsp-2101] bulk dump help!!!

2003-03-20 by klaus dibbelt

hey ryan,
i´d recommend a small helpful program: midiox. free download at midiox.com.
records and plays sysex files. furthermore it offers a midi-monitor, so that you can watch, if and which mididata are received.
you might want to tell us, what you have tried up to now and where exactly things go wrong.
one more thing: the midi-jacks on your adapter cable have "in" and "out" written on them (which is not perfectly unambigious: in to the computer or in to the connected device??) try to exchange the connections.
regards
klaus

Subject: [gsp-2101] bulk dump help!!!

hey guys. i am trying to do a sysex bulk dump from my gsp 2101 to my
cakewalk pro. i have bought a midi in/out to pc game controller
cable. i have windows 2000. my gsp 2101 is the single s-disc with an
early version of the software (1.03.02). it should be pretty easy,
but i don't know what im doing wrong. i have the utilities for the
2101 by deiter, but have been unable to use them with any success. i
have cakewalk 9.0 pro, steinberg cubase, emagic platinum 5.0, sonic
foundry sound forge, and many more. ; any help would be greatly
appreciated.
thanks in advance.

ps- i need to do this asap b/c i have already crashed my 2101 twice
by trying to load too many user defined algorithms. i have had to
reporgram all my patches both times. also, i am using a behringer
fcb 1010 as my midi controller, so it double the amount of work to
reprogram the damn thing. thanks again guys.

also, do i have to install a game controller driver for recognition
by the computer? do i have to tweak any contol panel settings,
ports, or channels?
