RE: [gsp-2101] YES

I see then it appears there are a few souls on the list. I bought my
gsp-2101 new back in the mid 90's. It's the chrome face Artist Pro with a
ppc-210 installed I purchased at the same time. Recently I attempted to
purchase an identical unit on eBay as a backup. At the same time my own unit
died completely. I just pressed the power button and it lit up for a second
and then went completely dark. Of course this happened days before an
important gig. My backup has not yet arrived (another horrible story about
paying for 2nd day shipping and not receiving item for 3 weeks). Anyway, it
ended up being the transformer inside the 2101. Apparently the coils will
eventually open and it will cease to work. A new transformer was about
$40usd and I paid a guy $60usd to put it in. So if any of you have similar
experience (1. sudden death of 2101, 2. no blown fuse) I would suspect the
transformer. In fact having a spare transformer handy might not be a bad
idea. Anyway back to the story. In my panic of approaching gig and no 2101 I
ran out and purchased a TSR24S. This is basically a 2101 with only the
digital section and no tubes, analog eq, compression or distortion. Nice
unit. It came with a ppc-200 upgrade. I was going to use this with an ADA
MP1 I had lying around and actually it wasn't too bad except for the popping
noise between patch changes from the MP1. So ended up with my repaired 2101
back (all patches intact YAY!), and my TSR24S setup. Now I have received the
other 2101 (finally!). The listing on eBay had described an 'LE' model with
255 presets and seamless patch changes but of course when I plugged it in
guess what. 240 presets. I am pissed. No ppc-210. But ok here's my question
hopefully you are still reading.

Can I somehow use the ppc-200 from the TSR24S in the 2101?

I believe they are both sdisc i. I am willing to make a new circuit board if
necessary. Could it be possible that this is a simple 'bolt right up' type
of exchange? Anyone who has any knowledge of these units your advice would
be greatly appreciated. Or, if anyone has a working email address to Dieter.
I know he was a guru with both these units.

Thanks guys.
