I've been reading up on them and I think I agree with you. The advantage of the G-Force might be extra memory and better DA converters, but beyond that the old 2101 is still holding up ok. I also like the back panel options on the 2101. Guess I'll stick w/ the old tried and true until someone does something better (given the state of today's music, that's iffy). -----Original Message----- From: gsp-2101@yahoogroups.com [mailto:gsp-2101@yahoogroups.com] On Behalf Of gusfmm Sent: Monday, October 31, 2005 10:11 AM To: gsp-2101@yahoogroups.com Subject: [gsp-2101] TC Electr comparison I've heard the g-major only but read and exchange comments with many people about the g-force, so kind of have an opinion already about it. GMajor is an entry level processor, not close to the FX programmability of neither its big brother nor the GSP2101. FX quality is good compared to other processors in its class though. I personally found it not worthy to replace my ART SGX-Nitro, that gave me a bit more flexibility on some things, believe it or not. The G-Force is another totally different animal. Endless possibilities in routing the signal, good FX quality, some "special" FX added, etc; an overall great unit. I found it unacceptable that the unit was not designed with an FX-loop though, and the fact that it's been always overpriced IMO. Those two reasons were enough to me not to go with one. Besides, it's almost as old design as the GSP2101, so why bother? It's interesting that TC hasn't released any other guitar-oriented processor after so long that would offer an improved design. Well, until recently I guess, that they came up with the G-System. I've read several previous G-Force users comments expressing disappointment as there is no much improvement other than enhacing I/Os. Price: Still in the Stratosphere... My take: Nothing yet beats the 2101... unless perhaps an Eventide... but then you ought to pay 4x more.
