Fellas,
It passed the level of sucks. I left it exactly where I found it. It was so gross I couldn't even touch it. I had to enter my house in a hazmat suit. Nothing could be salvaged. My entire studio was lost; 10 years of equipment purchases. Over six months tweaking the 2101.
My sequences were Ensoniq based. (ASr10r & Keyboard, SQ1+32 controller, Korg sound modules,MOTU XT, and a plethora of processors.) I lost sheet music, music books (even Pat Methany), masters, ADAT, FOSTEX recorders. Computers, desktop and laptop. And over 8 years of sequences. Oh yea, I back up everything, but I put it up high on the shelve just in case the area flooded. I got at least 12' of water and my studio sat 4' off the ground.
However, I must admit, the musical community has done unbelievable things to assist in our recovery. But,
some things just cannot be replaced, ever.
So, the moral of this story: all ways have off-site backup. I would have made out Ok if I hadn't lost all of my music and sequences.
Moreover, I am getting use to the Pod XT Live. It is an awesome box. I love those old stomp boxes, and old school delays, MXR 90 phaser, etc. And like I said before, it is unbelievable coming through two Bose PS1s. I have heard tone that I didn't know my ax could produce. And it get just as nasty or clean as you want it too.
Until next time,
Ed Sims

that sucks, ed.. do you still have it?? what made you
go to the POD XT?? if i lost my 2101, i'd seriously
get another one..
i
still use my 2101 w/ppc-210 Artist every time i
play.. the only effects that i use is a BBE 362 (in
the 2101's fxloop) and my 2101..
although recently, i bought a J-12 Johnson floor
controller for it.. i couldn't pass it up, it was 30
bucks at the local GC.. as soon as i saw that, i
snagged it and the cable.. it works, with some quirks,
with the 2101.. it's so much better than the C1 which
likes to disintergrate under mild usage..
i've been contemplating buying another 2101 (i want a
colored faceplate LE) and using them in dual stereo..
one to the PA and one in my rig.. to have alternating
stereo effects.. it's just setting it all up.. A/B'ing
the inputs, patch/switch changing..
Jim..
