Upgraded to 20MHz, now can't assign programs to footswitches

While I'm waiting to hear back from Dieter, I wonder if any of you have run into this.

I have the faster crystal and different capacitors installed. The Artist version display now says "3.00.00.a" -- "a" for 20 MHz. As you would expect, I put in a new battery and did a Factory Reset.

My 2101FC shows the correct patches as I scroll the patch knob. But, I can't assign patches to the foot switches. I tried this via the Utility button and also the Link button.

Did I miss a setup step, or is something worse going on?

When I soldered my faster crystal, I had trouble pushing a heated pin through the circuit board hole. Suddenly, a small ring popped loose on the backside of the board, still stuck on the pin of the new crystal. I added solder and everything looked solid. I did not see any solder bridges. However, I see a little discoloration on the circuit board top side, where I was applying the heat for this pin and hole.

Is it a cold solder joint? A damaged main board?

Dieter suggested resetting doing a factory reset, again. This time, I decided to not only reset the Programs, but also the Utility/MIDI settings. Now, it works!

Thanks, Dieter!!!
