Midi Software

2014-04-10 by Tom Burlison

I would like to upload some of the SYX files from the Yahoo Groups page (Leslie Spearker, Bit O' Grit, etc.) and as you load more, plus the SYX files that I downloaded from the GSP2101.com site.

I have no idea how to do it, except I need some software I assume. I have a Windows 7 laptop. I assume I need a USB to Midi (two ends - one for input and one for output) cable, correct?

I have downloaded the SYX files and they are in a folder on my laptop right now. That's all I have done.

Any help is appreciated.

My version is 1.03.02

Thank you.

Tom:
I note from your email that the chipset installed in your GSP-2101 is version 1.03.02. I highly recommend that you upgrade the chipset to version 3.00.00 which is the most-recent chipset available for your GSP-2101.
There are 3 major reasons for upgrading your chipset:
1. The newest version 3.00.00 includes some additional factory programs and factory algorithms that are not available with earlier versions.
;
2. The newest version 3.00.00 has a very reliable MIDI interface that, in our experience so far, appears to be bug-free.
3. The newest version 3.00.00 has additional MIDI capabilities over prior versions that MIDIWizard takes full advantage of.
Version 3.00.00 chipsets are available from Dieter Waechter in Germany. His email address is:
Hope this helps,
Graham

Thank you. I went ahead and purchased that.

What foot controllers can you get for the GSP 2101? I know one is the Johnson J12. I assume the Johnson J8 as well. Any others?

Thanks.

Control One, GSP2101FC are the other 2. You can find them on eBay. They are no longer manufactured.

Another option is a ‎Behringer FCB10101. Uses the MIDI jacks on the back of the 2101. But DO NOT connect it to the Digitech controller jack, can possibly damage the 2101! That jack is for Digitech pedalboards ONLY.

You can find those Behringers on ebay pretty cheap and they're pretty durable.
